UI design is the creation of the visual component. At this stage, they select the color scheme, draw icons, specify the shape of buttons and substrates, and set fonts.

In UI-design, first and foremost consider the nature of the brand and its emotional message. It is also important to keep in mind the peculiarities of visual perception: for example, to make the text contrast to the background, avoid too bright colors from which the eyes quickly tire. Take into account different features of monitors – their resolution and color rendering – so that the site was displayed correctly everywhere.

The result is a layout – a picture that looks exactly like the real interface.

The finished layout can be transferred to the frontend-developer, who will take it to the code. But if the site is a lot of complex or non-obvious animation, at the stage of design is useful to make a prototype – an animated layout. On him the developer will clearly see how the elements move. If there is no prototype, the frontrunner is guided by text notes or consults with the designer.

In large companies, UX- and UI-design are often handled by different specialists: one is responsible for user-friendliness, and the second – for beauty. But when it comes to small and medium-sized businesses, UX/UI designers who can do both are more in demand.

Beginners usually work with small firms: to get a job in a large company you need more qualifications and experience. That’s why it makes sense to simultaneously develop both UX and UI skills.
